Our Story
With over 40 years of foster care experience, Genevieve created Out of the Box - With Genevieve. Growing up in 16 foster homes from age 3 to 18, Genevieve has experienced abuse, neglect and homelessness.
Now she is a foster/adoptive mother and a full-time foster care worker.
Her goal is to help give children from hard places a sense of hope. That is why she created a gift box that children can receive monthly. When a child feels like their world is falling apart, they can look forward to a gift box full of encouragement.
Genevieve began OBXG with her family in 2023. Now this wonderful mission has grown to include volunteers and caring staff. They help to ensure the mission of giving “a Hug in a box” to children who need to know they are seen, valued, and loved continues.
